About

Who is building this.

Open Systems Inc. builds open infrastructure. ORB is what happens when you point that discipline at the places connectivity skipped.

Why we built this

Every industry got connected except the ones that build everything else.

Offices got fiber. Homes got gigabit. Jobsites got a hotspot taped to a trailer window.

It was not for lack of technology. It was complexity: licenses, carriers, engineers, permits, integrators. Nobody on a jobsite has time for any of that, so nobody got connected. So we removed all of it.

We have spent decades building open infrastructure. This is the simplest thing we have ever made, and it is the hardest thing we have ever built. That is usually the sign you are making something that matters.

Doctrine

Four commitments we design against.

These are not values on a wall. Each one has cost us a shortcut.

Published

Specifications before product

ORB-1, ORB-A1, and ORB-C1 exist as written specifications, in the open, at version 0.9. If we cannot describe the interface, we have not finished designing it.

Open

No captive interfaces

Antennas, machine integrations, cameras, and sensors come from anyone who passes the conformance suite. Second-source is a design requirement, not a concession.

Owned

The hard parts are ours

We assemble mature open software and we own the coordination plane, the ledger, and the deterministic tier, because those are the parts that decide whether a site stays up.

Plain

No specialist required

Every decision on the platform gets measured against one test: can a superintendent bring it up in a morning without calling anyone.

The record

Where the company actually stands.

Written plainly, because a capital purchase from an unfamiliar vendor deserves it.

How we work with you

Engineers, not a funnel.

There is no sales tier between you and the people who wrote the specifications. If you ask a hard question about isolation masks or grant renewal, the answer comes from whoever designed it.

  • Pilots are paid, scoped to one live job, and end with a written result rather than a renewal conversation.
  • The specification suite goes to your engineers before you buy anything, not after.
  • We tell you when ORB is the wrong answer for a site. A fiber drop next door beats a radio every time.
  • Support during a pilot goes to the engineering team directly, including at 2 a.m.

Talk to us.

Stage a pilot, ask a technical question, or tell us why this will not work on your site. All three are useful.
